Success Everywhere

Shane Dowling – Winner NT FTR

In the latest success for a CRC member Shane Dowling has won the FTR Queens at the Northern Territory Championships in Darwin. It follows a win in Alice Springs at the CARC prize meeting last week.

Success of our members is Australia wide and last week David Groves was in Perth for the National Fly Championships It is away from his usual F Class discipline however Dave finished 1st in the Light Gun Competition, 3rd in Heavy Gun and 3rd in 3-Gun (Heavy, Light and Rimfire)

These follow success at recent shooting competitions attended by ACT members that are also worthy of note including:

David McIntosh our sole association representative at the South Australian Queen’s Series in Lower Light who finished 2nd in the Lead-Up, following a shoot-off. David finished 22nd in the Queen’s and 10th in the Grand Aggregate.

Graham Aitchison was an association representative at the North Queensland Queen’s Series in Townsville finishing 1st in the Lead-Up, 2nd in the Queen’s and 1st in the Grand Aggregate also winning the long and short range aggregates.

Chris Bourke recently attended No 9 Riverina DRA – Cootamundra open prize meeting taking out first place in his grade. Well done Chris.

Shaun Wingrove successful at the Ungarie Match Rifle championships and shooting when out to 1200 yards anything can happen. Talk to Shaun if you are interested in finding out more information on real ‘Long Range’ shooting.

Then at the Victorian Queen’s Championships in Bendigo there was a strong contingent of shooters from the ACT. In the leadup (the David Syme) David McIntosh had a strong 5th, with Graham finishing 14th. In the Queen’s David stepped it up a place, finishing in 4th with Steve Negus in 15th. The Grand Aggregate saw a similar outcome to the Syme, with David in 5th and Graham in 14th.

Congratulations to everyone on all their successes and great to see Canberra and the ACT so well represented Australia wide.
