Steve beat off some exceptional competition across all the climatic variations that the ACT Queens is famous for to come out on top on this impressive field. Gillian Webb Enslin of Pacific RC finished 2nd beating Duncan Davies on a countback, both with 444.43.

TR C: Ethan Hewett (Southern Highlands Rifle Club) – 424.20
FS A: Ralph Garlick (Lyndhurst Rifle Club) – 526.35
FS B: Brendon Crowe (Explorers Rifle Club) – 494.23
F Open: Matt Paroz (North Sydney Rifle Club) – 527.40
F/TR: Don Laughton (Lang Lang, Vic) – 512.36

Jim Reid – (OAM)

Congratulations to Jim Reid, honoured in the 2018 Queens Birthday awards.

In September the Governor General of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove presented Jim Reid the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division for service to the sport of full bore shooting and his involvement with community work.

A member of the Canberra Rifle Club since 1965 Jim was awarded life membership in 1995 and has taken on many roles within the club over that time including:
  • role of Chief Custodian between 2009 and 2015
  • a committee member between 1971 and 2015
  • Vice Captain from 1986 and 1990
  •  a Member and past chair of the Social Committee, and
  • was instrumental on construction of the clubhouse (Reid House)
